Independence Day & Plantation Day Celebrations

On 15th August 2024, St.Anne’s The School of Excellence celebrated a memorable dual occasion this year with the observance of Independence Day and Plantation Day. These events provided an opportunity for students to learn about the significance of freedom while also engaging in environmental stewardship.

Independence Day Celebrations

The day commenced with the unfurling of the national flag by the Chief Guest Father Triver Dissoza accompanied by the principal, followed by a rendition of the national anthem, sung with great enthusiasm by the St. Anne’s Generalate community Sisters, Correspondent, Teachers & the students. Dressed in traditional attire, the children showcased their patriotism, adding a vibrant touch to the proceedings.

The principal addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of independence and encouraging students to contribute positively to society.

Various performances, including songs, dances, and skits, highlighted the struggles and sacrifices made by our forefathers in the fight for independence. The audience was captivated, and many parents expressed pride in their children's understanding of this important historical narrative.

To wrap up the morning festivities, the Prize distribution ceremony for the winners of the various competitions conducted during other events was conducted, engaging students and fostering their participation and learning.

Plantation Day Activities

Followed by the Flag hoisting, the focus shifted to Plantation Day, reinforcing the theme of environmental consciousness. The school organized a tree-planting drive in its premises, with each class responsible for planting a designated number of saplings. Teachers explained the importance of trees in maintaining ecological balance and combating climate change, encouraging students to think about their role in protecting the environment.
